"Consecration Ceremony "
It was announced on May 3, 2009, that Pastor Bill Hines would be elevated to the office of Bishop Designate. This elevation would then lead to the Consecration as Bishop. As Bishop, Pastor Hines will serve as pastoral covering, and give oversight and provide guidance to pastors and church’s affiliated within the SWIF organization. His responsibilities will also include being a spiritual father and mentor amongst pastors and leaders. Ceremony will begin on Sunday, October 4th at 4 pm. Special guests include: Apostle Gene A. Moore and Bishop John Hickman.

Young Men's Mentoring Program
In 1996, Dereik Smith decided to take a bold stand for change in his life. His preceding years was spent actively performing, promoting and marketing what was termed, “gangsta rap” music and living the lifestyle often associated with it, although he was raised in a Christian home with both his loving parents.
In October of 1996, he began seeking a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and began asking God for wisdom to alter the course of his life, a principle he read and remembered from the book of James 1:5. Overtime, God began to renew his mind through the consistent intake of doctrine and study of biblical principles. In 1997, Dereik was led to form Southern Gospeltality Records (SGR Music Group), an independent record label that releases life changing, urban gospel music to the market place. He still actively runs the label and works closely with his wife, Alkendria, who writes, records and releases music for the recording company.
After joining the New Covenant Christian Church family in 2008, Bishop Bill Hines encouraged Dereik to find his place in ministry to become an active member. His desire to impact the lives of young people, specifically the young men, led him to become apart of the Young Men of Valor, a mentoring ministry at the church.
Dereik’s burden and passion is to encourage young men to avoid the shortcuts that life often presents, and to make righteous choices, in order to obtain God’s best in their lives. Through coaching, he helps the young men understand that life is choice driven and even if they have made poor choices, they can turn their stumbling blocks and turn them into stepping stones. His goal is to help deter them away from destructive and self defeating habits and choices that too often rob many young people of the potential God has placed in them.
Dereik is currently working to release his first book entitled, Prevailing in Life-On Purpose. In the book he hopes to help other young men realize that God has a plan for their lives and how to recognize what that purpose is. Dereik is living proof that only in God’s purpose can you truly be fulfilled.
